Ulster County officials celebrated the opening of Lake Sophia at a press conference held on July 17 in Kingston, Sojourner Truth State Park. Joshua Laird, who serves as the Palisades regional director for New York State Parks, was present at the event. The lake is part of an ongoing project to enhance recreational opportunities within the state park system. [1] [2]
