Instead, it continuously pulls in articles from a wide spread of outlets — wire services, and outlets across the political spectrum — groups the ones covering the same real event into a single story, and uses a locally-run language model to write one synthesized account from all of them.
The model is instructed to use only the facts present in the source excerpts it's given, to say plainly when sources disagree rather than picking a side, and to avoid loaded or partisan phrasing from any single outlet. It is not always perfect — small local models can misread nuance, and clustering articles by topic is an imperfect, automated process. Every synthesized story links back to every original source article it drew from, so you can always check the sourcing yourself.
Fast-moving stories — a breaking disaster, an unfolding conflict — are flagged LIVE once enough independent outlets are covering them in a short window. Those stories get a running timeline of short updates as new developments come in, rather than being silently rewritten from scratch each time.
